No Blind Spots in High-Security Zone: DIG Security Umar Orders Round-the-Clock Camera Readiness
ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Aug, 2026) Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Security Islamabad, Rana Umar Farooq, has ordered round-the-clock operational readiness of surveillance cameras and technical systems covering the Diplomatic Enclave, High-Security Zone, and sensitive government installations, emphasizing prompt maintenance to eliminate any security gaps.
An official revealed that DIG Security issued these instructions during a visit to the Safe City Control Room, where he reviewed security monitoring and the performance and effectiveness of surveillance cameras. The concerned officers provided detailed briefings to Rana Umar Farooq regarding camera coverage, monitoring, performance, and the security surveillance system.
DIG Umar directed officials to ensure timely maintenance of cameras and keep all technical systems functional at all times to quickly detect any suspicious activity or unforeseen circumstances and respond immediately. He called for enhanced surveillance around the Diplomatic Enclave, High-Security Zone, and critical government institutions, instructing officials to maintain constant vigilance over the security situation at these key locations.
Umar emphasized the need to leverage modern technology and the Safe City monitoring system to bolster security at sensitive areas. He directed that any issues with cameras or technical systems should be addressed immediately to ensure uninterrupted security monitoring.
The DIG noted that Islamabad Police is utilizing all available resources for the protection of citizens, diplomatic missions, and crucial government installations, while the Safe City surveillance system enhances the effectiveness and coordination of security arrangements.
