PTI members seek a meeting with Imran Khan to salvage their face, and the government might arrange a so-called meeting to provide grounds for cancelling the long march, according to journalist Munib Farooq. He adds that the government's actions amount to more false hopes.

PTI and Government Talks

According to Farooq, reports suggest that the government-PTI talks are unlikely to bring about any significant changes. He highlights that respected members of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) desire a meeting with Khan Sahib to maintain their dignity. The government could potentially organize a meeting, which might then serve as a pretext to justify cancelling the long march.

The journalist emphasizes that the most crucial aspect of this process is the lack of encouraging news regarding the PTI's demands, such as Khan Sahib's release and transfer to a hospital. He concludes that dark clouds of tough measures by Sohail Afridi and the PTI against the government remain a significant concern.

Talks in Progress

It is worth noting that the second round of talks between the government and the opposition is currently underway. National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq is chairing these negotiations, with delegates from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Pakistan Peoples Party, and the opposition participating. The government delegation includes Amir Muqam, Sherry Rehman, Mohsin Naqvi, Talal Chaudhry, Rana Sanaullah, Naveed Qamar, and Ejaz Jakhrani, while Salman Akram Raja and Amir Dogar represent the PTI.

Delayed Talks

Previously scheduled for 2 p.m. and then 3 p.m., the formal session of the talks had still not commenced at the designated time.
