Lando Norris Signs New McLaren Contract Until 2030
BBC Sport reports that Lando Norris, world champion and McLaren driver, has signed a new contract keeping him with the team until at least the end of 2030. Norris expressed his enthusiasm for the deal, stating, "There was some interest from elsewhere, but I don't want to go anywhere. I don't want to be with another team."
In an interview with BBC Sport, Norris explained his decision:
"The fact I stuck it through with them and then we went on to obviously have success certainly makes me feel like I don't want to... they didn't give up on me and I didn't give up on them."
Norris highlighted his strong bond with the team, built on successful years and shared history, specifically mentioning the recent constructors' championships and his own drivers' title in 2023.
Despite a slow start to the current season, Norris affirmed his commitment:
"Slow start to year 'makes me want to stick around'."
