Notification of new working hours of schools from August 24 has been issued. According to the school education department, single shift schools will operate from 8 am to 1:30 pm. On Fridays, they will start at 12:45 pm. Double shift schools will commence from 8 am to 12 pm, with the second shift running from 2 pm to 5:30 pm.
Girls’ schools will begin 15 minutes before boys’ schools, and holidays will also be 15 minutes earlier. Saturdays remain holidays in government schools. The new working hours will be in place until October 15, as per the School Education Department.
