We worked hard to revive the economy, but if anyone harms it, would that not amount to treason against the country? Our detractors are also compelled to praise it, yet you want to damage it, he said while addressing a ceremony.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif warned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to come to its senses and end the practice of launching long marches that harm the country. He stated:
"The government has made strict arrangements of every kind, adding that protecting the lives and property of the people was the state’s fundamental responsibility, which would be fulfilled at all costs."
He further emphasized that Pakistan's current international reputation is such that even its detractors are compelled to praise it. "You want to damage this, but we will not allow it to happen—under any circumstances."

The Prime Minister continued:
"The dark shadows of sit-ins and long marches are once again emerging in the country, and the first and biggest target of such politics would be the country’s fragile economy. The present government has managed to put the economy back on its feet with great difficulty."
"If anyone damages it again, would that act not amount to treason against the country? What else is deliberately bringing the journey of development and its wheels to a halt, other than treason?"
Earlier, Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry had also endorsed the Prime Minister’s position, stating:
"The door to dialogue could be opened, but certain conditions have been set for it. PTI should not remain under the misconception that there would be room for any further march in the country after the march this time, as a complete political, constitutional and administrative plan has been put in place."
