Operations, Investigation Wings Separated For Efficient Policing: CPO

Police have separated its Operations and Investigation Wings to streamline policing, enhance professional efficiency and clearly define responsibilities of the two key branches.
This decision was taken on the directions of City Police Officer (CPO) Sadiq Ali Dogar, who addressed a police Darbar held at Police Lines Multan.

- All SPs, SDPOs and other officers of both wings attended.
The CPO stated that the separation would enable both wings to:
- Focus more effectively on their core responsibilities.
- Improve the overall policing system.
- Provide officers with a clearer operational framework.
He explained:

Operations Wing will concentrate on:
- Maintaining law and order.
- Preventing crime.
- Patrolling.
- Policing.
- Other field operations.

Investigation Wing will focus on:
- Case investigations.
- Evidence collection.
- Arrest of suspects.
- Timely completion of challans.
Sadiq Ali Dogar emphasized that stronger coordination between the two wings would:
- Reduce pending investigations and challans.
- Improve the quality of investigations.
- Facilitate disposal of cases strictly on merit.
He also noted that the restructuring would:
- Improve workflow, monitoring and accountability.
- Enable senior officers to assess performance more effectively.
- Ensure better delivery of police services to citizens.
The CPO directed officers to maintain close coordination and cooperation, prioritizing efficient and responsive police services to citizens.
He concluded that the process of police reforms and modernization would continue in Multan to further strengthen crime prevention, maintain law and order, and ensure timely justice for the public.
