UAE citizens and residents now have the chance to invest in the country's government bonds with as little as 1,000 dirhams. This initiative was announced by the UAE Ministry of Finance, who revealed the issuance of their second five-year government sukuk.

According to the Ministry, the sukuk will offer a competitive profit rate, with the rate to be disclosed on September 22nd. Investments can be made through various platforms, including the Dubai Financial Market and participating banks' digital channels. The sukuk will subsequently be listed on the Dubai Stock Exchange, enabling secondary market trading.

The recent offering follows a strong response from investors, surpassing the initial target of AED 50 million. The demand was so high that the size of the issue was increased to AED 100 million, with a significant 76% of applications submitted for investments of AED 10,000 or less. UAE citizens accounted for a substantial 72% of these investors.

This new sukuk is designed to provide individuals with Shariah-compliant investment opportunities in the government sector, even with relatively small investment amounts.
