Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah praised the province’s healthcare system and the standards of Jinnah Hospital, Karachi, saying that a Punjab lawmaker from an opposition party had his relative treated there free of charge. Impressed by the experience, the MPA also made a donation.
Speaking on Talat Hussain’s talk show, CM Murad Ali Shah discussed reforms in Sindh’s healthcare sector, highlighting that the provincial government was providing quality medical facilities free of charge and without discrimination.
He recounted an incident where a member of the Punjab Provincial Assembly met him. The lawmaker, unaffiliated with the Pakistan Peoples Party, shared that a relative had been treated at Jinnah Hospital, Karachi. After the treatment was completed, the MPA inquired about the charges, only to learn that all treatment at the hospital was provided free of cost.
The Punjab lawmaker, impressed by the hospital’s excellent management and free services, expressed a desire to provide financial assistance. However, due to the hospital’s strict financial rules and transparency requirements, the donation was accepted after completing the necessary legal and documentation processes.
