Orientation Session on Polio Eradication and Immunization for 22 Priority Districts
PESHAWAR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 27th Aug, 2026) An orientation and sensitization workshop was organized by the Emergency Operations Centre, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with support from United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), for deputy commissioners of 22 priority districts on polio eradication, essential immunization, and integrated service delivery here on Thursday.
The activity aimed to strengthen district-level understanding, coordination, leadership, and ownership of the Polio Eradication Program.

Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shahab Ali Shah, emphasized strong leadership, ownership, coordination, and effective monitoring of polio eradication activities at the district level.
Secretary Health Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Fayaz Ali Shah, stressed the importance of strong district-level leadership, effective coordination, and close monitoring to ensure every child receives the polio vaccine.
Additional Secretary Health and Coordinator EOC, Shafi Ullah Khan, detailed key program priorities, including district team roles, campaign planning, addressing operational challenges, adhering to SOPs, and strengthening coordination among stakeholders.
