Over 3,000 Police To Guard Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) Processions In Islamabad
ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 25th Aug, 2026) Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police have finalised a comprehensive security plan for Eid Milad-un-Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him), deploying more than 3,000 police officers and personnel to protect processions and ensure peaceful observance of the sacred occasion across the Federal capital.
An ICT Police official told APP on Tuesday, special security arrangements have been made for processions, their routes and surrounding areas, while traffic police officers will be deployed to maintain smooth traffic flow and manage alternative routes.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Qazi Ali Raza said participants would be allowed to enter the processions only through designated entry points. He explained that walk-through gates would be installed at all entry points, while participants would be allowed to join the processions only after complete body searches as part of the security measures.
The SSP Qazi said procession routes and surrounding areas would remain under continuous surveillance through Safe City cameras, allowing police to closely monitor security throughout the proceedings. He further added that snipers would be deployed on rooftops of important buildings along the procession routes, while adjoining streets, roads, and other access points would be temporarily sealed where required for security purposes.
Police station mobile units, special teams of police commandos, and patrolling squads would also remain deployed in their respective areas to strengthen security and maintain effective patrols.
Qazi appealed to citizens to cooperate with police personnel and immediately report any suspicious person, object, or activity to the police.
