Over Rs2.966m Released For Medical Treatment Of Cops, Families
Punjab Inspector General of Police Abdul Kareem has approved the release of more than Rs2.966 million for the medical treatment of police personnel and their family members as part of the department’s ongoing welfare measures.
According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, Rs500,000 was released for the treatment of liver ailment of Sub-Inspector Maqbool Hussain, while Head Constable Abdul Aziz was provided Rs500,000 for cancer treatment.
Corporal Tasawar Abbas, Constable Asif Mehboob and Constable Muhammad Jabbar were each provided Rs200,000 for their medical treatment, the spokesperson said. He said retired Inspector Babar Saleem, Head Constable Naseer Ahmad and Constable Muhammad Abbas were each provided Rs100,000 for medical treatment.
Similarly, DSP Amir Khan, Head Constable Rafiq Ahmad and ASI Zahid Iqbal were provided a combined Rs400,000 for their medical treatment, while 12 other police personnel suffering from various ailments received a combined amount of more than Rs650,000.
The funds were approved by the IG Punjab following scrutiny by the Medical Financial Assistance Committee.
Abdul Kareem said the welfare of police personnel and their families, who remain engaged in protecting the lives and property of citizens, is among the department’s top priorities. He said Punjab Police is also providing quality medical facilities to its personnel and their families under memorandums of understanding (MoUs) signed with various institutions.
