PAA Delegation Meets DG FDA For Faisalabad Greenfield Airport Project Discussion

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Sep, 2026) Significant progress has been made regarding the proposed Greenfield Airport project in Faisalabad, particularly with regard to its master planning, feasibility study, and design services.
In this connection, a delegation of consultants from Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) met with Director General Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) Muhammad Asif Chaudhary.
FDA Spokesman's Statement:
The meeting focused on detailed discussions regarding the proposed draft of the Faisalabad Master Plan, future urban expansion, land use, transport and connectivity infrastructure, and various technical and planning aspects related to the proposed Greenfield Airport project.

Welcoming the delegation of PAA consultants, DG FDA Muhammad Asif Chaudhary stated that the Faisalabad Greenfield Airport project holds immense importance for the future development of the city and region, expansion of economic activities, industrial and commercial growth, and the establishment of a modern transportation network.
Briefing on Peri-urban Structure Plan:
He informed the delegation about the peri-urban structure plan being prepared by the FDA, which takes into account not only the city's existing needs but also its future development potential, urban expansion, projected population growth, regional and socio-economic factors, and evolving land use trends.
Chaudhary provided a detailed overview of:
- Areas proposed for urban expansion under the Faisalabad Master Plan
- Road development projects
- Transportation networks
- Major arteries
- Land use
- Zoning map
- Zoning regulations
- Connectivity infrastructure linking the city with the proposed Greenfield Airport.
DG FDA's Insights:
According to DG FDA, adhering to modern urban planning principles, it is crucial to establish an integrated development framework that facilitates efficient and safe communication links between the airport and the city, while also managing anticipated traffic and commercial activity increases in the future.
