PAF Observes 7th September As Martyrs’ Day Across All Air Bases
Pakistan Air Force (PAF) observed 7th September as Martyrs' Day at all its bases across the country to honour the sacrifices of its martyrs and pay tribute to their courage, valour, and dedication to duty. The day began with a special prayer and Quran reading for the martyrs of the 1965 and 1971 wars, as well as all PAF personnel who have made the ultimate sacrifice since Pakistan's inception.
Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, NI (M), HJ, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force, served as the Chief Guest at the ceremony held at Air Headquarters, Islamabad. He paid his respects to the PAF martyrs, emphasizing that their sacrifices form the foundation of PAF's proud legacy of bravery, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to defending the motherland.
He stated:
"The deeds of our forefathers are not merely historical chapters but a living legacy that places a profound responsibility on the current generation."
In his homage to the martyrs, the Chief of the Air Staff said, "Our Shuhada (martyrs) are enduring symbols of courage, sacrifice, and national resolve. Their legacy reminds us that defending our motherland is a sacred trust, which we shall continue to uphold with steadfast commitment."
Subsequently, he laid a floral wreath at the Martyrs' Monument and offered Fateha in remembrance of the gallant PAF martyrs.
