Pakistan, ILO Develop National Occupational Safety Strategy For Healthcare Workers

Pakistan, in collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO), is formulating a National Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Strategy to enhance workplace safety and protect healthcare workers nationwide. This initiative, part of the ILO-OECD-WHO's Working for Health Programme, follows consultations on improving work conditions for health professionals and other sector workers.

The process involves stakeholders from the health sector discussing practical measures to strengthen occupational safety and health arrangements. The ILO emphasized the importance of a healthy and supported workforce for a robust health system.

The development of the national strategy aims to promote safer work environments and bolster Pakistan's healthcare system resilience.
