Pakistan Shoots Down Eight Afghan Drones Near Border
Pakistan's air defense system intercepted and shot down eight drones that entered the country’s airspace from Afghanistan on September 23, 2026.
According to security sources, four drones were shot down in areas adjacent to the Torkham border, while another four were brought down in mountainous regions near the border with Kohat. The Pakistan Army and Pakistan Air Force detected and intercepted the drones before they could reach their intended targets.
The security sources stated that this incident served as clear evidence of direct support for "terrorist" groups by Afghanistan’s Taliban authorities. It is worth noting that Pakistani security forces had previously targeted several positions and posts belonging to the Afghan Taliban in the Kurram sector in response to provocative firing from across the border.
