Pakistan Will Continue Diplomatic Support For Kashmiris, Interior Minister Says On Black Day
Pakistan will keep raising the Kashmir dispute at international forums, calling for a just settlement and condemning Indian oppression in Jammu and Kashmir, said Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - October 27, 2026) Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with the Kashmiri people on Kashmir Black Day, marking 79 years since India’s occupation of Jammu and Kashmir on October 27, 1947.
He stated that the Kashmiri people have not succumbed to Indian oppression and continue to stand firm in their struggle for freedom. In his message, Naqvi honored the Kashmiri people for their resistance against Indian oppression and mentioned that their sacrifices for freedom deserve recognition.
The minister described India’s occupation of Jammu and Kashmir in 1947 as a dark chapter in history. He added that since 1947, Indian forces have transformed the occupied valley into a place of suffering through state terrorism.
Naqvi pointed out that thousands of Kashmiri youth have sacrificed their lives in the struggle for freedom. He further stated that the military siege has turned the valley into a prison where voices are being silenced.
The interior minister criticized the international community’s silence regarding Indian atrocities, calling it a criminal act. He emphasized that the situation in occupied Kashmir demands global attention.
Referring to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s words, Naqvi recalled his statement that “Kashmir is Pakistan’s jugular vein.” He affirmed that this sentiment remains the voice of every Pakistani and reflects the country’s position on the Kashmir dispute.
The minister asserted that lasting peace in South Asia hinges on a just resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute. He emphasized the need for a fair settlement to establish sustainable peace in the region.
Naqvi reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to extending political, diplomatic, and moral support to the Kashmiri people at every international forum. He also pledged to continue raising their cause before the international community.
