Pakistani Delegates at CIFTIS 2026 Explore China’s High-Tech Capabilities for National Modernization
More than two dozen Pakistani companies and a large number of Pakistani professionals are participating in the 13th China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), being held in Beijing from September 9 to 11. Their involvement highlights Pakistan's growing connection with China's expanding services sector, fostering new business cooperation opportunities.
Statement from Ambassador Khalil Hashmi
Pakistan's Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, noted that a significant CIFTIS conference on September 11 will bring together over 75 companies from Pakistan and China for partnership exploration, joint ventures, and trade opportunities. He emphasized, "The Pakistan Pavilion is ready to facilitate these connections. Pakistan welcomes business initiatives."
Digitalization and Technology Transfer
In the era of global digitalization, CIFTIS serves as a practical testing ground for technology transfer, offering tangible paths for industrial upgrading in South Asia.
For the Pakistan Export Processing Zones Authority (EPZA), the focus is on equipping domestic exporters with modern capabilities to compete globally. Daim Darab Siddiqui, Facilitator for Industrialists in EPZA's Investment Promotion Department, highlighted the fair's value as a platform for direct exposure to essential infrastructure.
AI and Service Sector Collaboration
Siddiqui stressed the importance of artificial intelligence (AI) in both industrial manufacturing and trade services, stating that AI is no longer optional but critical. She noted the practical applications of AI in quality control, smart warehousing, and supply chain tracing for export zones.
She also praised CIFTIS' efficient organization, saying, "The cluster format... demonstrates international-standard event management."
Private sector representatives agreed with Siddiqui, acknowledging China's significant transition from lab to application in high-tech areas.
