Panic in Gulberg Greens as Bengal Tiger, Two Cubs Spotted in Residential Area

Sighting Confirmed
The sighting, confirmed by Gulberg Greens security management and residents, led to families going into alarm. The housing society's security teams were put on high alert. Photographs and videos of the tiger and its cubs quickly spread through community groups, with worried families advised to stay indoors.
Security Measures
Security personnel increased surveillance in the area, asking residents, especially children, not to venture outside until the situation was under control. They also urged residents to immediately report any movement or sighting of the animals.
"We are on high alert and our teams are closely monitoring the area," a security official told residents via a message shared in community groups. Another official assured that security teams were taking precautionary measures to ensure resident safety.
Resident Concerns
The unusual occurrence triggered worry among families who questioned how a potentially dangerous wild animal had reached a populated residential area.
"We are extremely worried, especially for children," said one resident. "Nobody knows where the tiger may move next, so families are staying indoors."
Another resident, Syed Hasnain, expressed concerns about keeping exotic animals in residential communities, stating that while wildlife protection is important, resident safety cannot be overlooked, particularly when cubs were involved.
"The presence of two cubs makes the situation more sensitive as the mother could become aggressive if she feels her young are threatened," he added.
Prior Incidents
This incident follows similar concerns raised earlier this year after a leopard was spotted repeatedly in and around the H-10 New Campus of the International Islamic University Islamabad. The university issued advisories asking students to avoid wooded areas, particularly during evening and early morning hours. Hostel administrations were also instructed to implement safety measures.
Leopards have also been reported in the Margalla Hills National Park, highlighting the need for awareness and precautions in urban areas near wildlife habitats.
