Parliamentary Secretary Malik Shehryar and MPA Malik Falak Sher Visit Safe City Project Office
TALAGANG, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Aug, 2026) Parliamentary Secretary for Excise & Taxation and MPA Malik Shehryar Awan, along with MPA Malik Falak Sher Awan, visited the Safe City Project office in Talagang. They received a detailed briefing on the progress and future roadmap of the project.
During the visit, SDPO Talagang Circle Abdul Aziz Malik and Safe City Project Manager Muhammad Mudassar informed the parliamentarians about:
- The installation of surveillance cameras
- The functioning of the control room
- The monitoring system
- The current status of the project.
Malik Shehryar Awan stated that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif considers the Safe City Project a key initiative. He emphasized the Punjab government's commitment to utilizing modern technology for citizen safety. He added that the project will contribute significantly to:
- Crime prevention
- Improved traffic management
- Rapid police response
According to Safe City administration, high-tech surveillance cameras have been installed at crucial locations in Talagang. These 24/7 monitored cameras enable immediate assistance to law enforcement in responding to crimes and emergencies. An e-challan system is also soon to be implemented through these cameras, targeting traffic violators such as:
- Motorcyclists without helmets
- Drivers not wearing seatbelts
Malik Shehryar Awan affirmed that protecting the lives and property of Talagang residents is a top priority. He expressed confidence in the Safe City Project's role in achieving this objective.
Both MPAs commended the project team's performance and pledged their full support for timely completion and effective operation of the project.
