Pesco Launches Crackdown Against Electricity Theft Facilitators

Peshawar, August 21, 2026 (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News) – As per the directives of Chief Executive Officer PESCO Engr. Akhtar Hamid Khan, a major anti-theft and recovery operation was conducted at Shumal Ghaara, Qazi Kali on 11 kV Dalazak Feeder by SE Peshawar Circle Engr. Arbab Farooq, XEN City Rural Division Peshawar Engr. Fida Khan, and SDO Sethi Town Sub Division Engr. Muhammad Rizwan along with police.
During the operation:
- 5 transformers were disconnected due to 80% direct hook connections during night hours.
- Two private electricity theft facilitators, Baloch and his associate, were arrested on the spot and an FIR was registered against them.
PESCO management has emphasized that strict action will be taken against all electricity theft facilitators, whether they are departmental employees or private persons:
- Dismissal from service
- Heavy penalties
- Legal action
The campaign will continue across all divisions until the complete elimination of illegal connections.
