PESCO Launches Crackdown On Power Defaulters In Matani
PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Sep, 2026) The Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO), in collaboration with the Assistant Commissioner Matani, launched a joint operation against electricity defaulters in Matani and disconnected power supply to 29 transformers over non-payment of outstanding dues, a PESCO spokesman said on Thursday.
According to the spokesman, consumers connected to these 29 transformers owed a total of Rs718 million in unpaid electricity bills. The Assistant Commissioner Matani also issued arrest warrants for two individuals over non-payment of electricity dues, he added.
The PESCO spokesman stated that power supply to the affected transformers would be restored once the consumers cleared their outstanding bills.
