Petitions Challenging Detention Of PTI MNAs Filed In IHC
ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Sep, 2026) Petitions challenging the detention of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Members of the National Assembly, Adil Bazai and Dawar Kundi, have been filed before the Islamabad High Court.
The petitions question the detention orders issued against the two lawmakers, with the Federation through the Advocate General and the Deputy Commissioner Islamabad made as respondents.
Petitioners argue that the Deputy Commissioner Islamabad invoked Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) Ordinance to issue detention orders, leading to the arrest and incarceration of both MNAs.
The petitions seek the annulment of the Deputy Commissioner’s orders dated September 20, and ask the court to direct authorities to ensure the safety and security of the petitioners.
They also request the provision of all permissible facilities under jail rules and regulations, along with permission to meet their lawyers and family members.
