The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) Gujrat conducted inspections at 51 food outlets across the district to ensure the provision of safe and quality food to citizens.
According to an official source, the inspections were conducted on the directions of Deputy District Officer Sadia Rafat. The PFA issued 24 improvement notices and imposed fines amounting to Rs111,000 on six food outlets.
One food sample was also collected for laboratory testing, while 7 kilograms of expired food items were discarded during the inspections.
The PFA has intensified its monitoring and enforcement activities to ensure compliance with food safety standards and protect citizens from substandard and expired food products.
