PHA Launches Bamboo Plantation Drive

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Sep, 2026) The Parks and Horticulture Agency (PHA) Lahore has launched a plantation drive along Atta Bakhsh Road under the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to make Lahore greener.

Talking to the media here on Saturday, PHA Managing Director Ahmad Usman Javed said that bamboo plantation was being carried out along the five-kilometer-long road, particularly alongside the sewerage drain.

He said that plants had already been planted along the road, adding that the authority would plant 3,600 new bamboo saplings under the initiative. The Managing Director said the plantation work would be completed by next week, which would help improve the city’s environment and green cover.
