PMDC Postpones Implementation of 5-Year BDS Programme
Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has withdrawn the earlier notification regarding the implementation of a five-year BDS (Dental Medicine and Surgery) program, which was scheduled for July 8. The council has temporarily suspended the program while conducting a comprehensive review of its academic structure and curriculum.
According to PMDC sources, the review will encompass the house job and internship framework of the BDS program. The final decision on the future of this five-year program will be made after the review is completed. The council plans to release details about the new educational framework once the process is finished. Recognized medical and dental universities across Pakistan have been officially informed about these developments.
In related news, PMDC has also taken measures to improve law and order in DG Khan, with Punjab taking steps to enhance security in the region.
