Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on PML-N’s Development Focus
LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 19th Aug, 2026) Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has stated that removing deprivation from the people of South Punjab is her government’s top priority. She emphasized that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is committed to delivering tangible development, rather than making empty promises.
During a meeting with Members of the Punjab Assembly (MPAs) from Muzaffargarh, she discussed the political scenario and development projects in South Punjab. The CM expressed her satisfaction in bringing development and opportunities to underserved areas. She recalled her personal involvement in last year’s flood relief operations in South Punjab and her dedication to balanced development across the province.
The MPAs praised the chief minister for her record-breaking development initiatives in South Punjab. They thanked her for introducing the electric bus service and clean drinking water projects in Muzaffargarh. They noted that her efforts have transformed previously neglected areas and won the hearts of the people.
The MPAs highlighted the benefits of the electric bus service on various routes, as well as the improvement in connectivity due to the Chief Minister Local Roads Programme, which has constructed and rehabilitated link roads in Muzaffargarh.
