PO Arrested After 27 Years
SIALKOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Sep, 2026) Sabz Pir Police Station arrested proclaimed offender, Maqsood Ahmed, from Gujrat. The suspect had been absconding for 27 years in a murder case.
In 1999, the accused allegedly murdered Muhammad Sadiq over a minor dispute in the area of Baini Brahmna village, within the jurisdiction of Sabz Pir Police Station. A case was registered in connection with the incident.
Following the murder, the accused allegedly changed his identity and personal details and remained in hiding in different cities. DPO Sialkot assigned a special task to the SHO of Sabz Pir Police Station and his team for the arrest of the accused and provided the necessary technical resources. Using modern digital technology, a locator system, human intelligence, and confidential information, the police team traced the accused to Gujrat District and arrested him.
