Police registered 295 narcotics-related cases and arrested 295 suspected drug traffickers during a month-long anti-drug crackdown in August 2026, recovering large quantities of narcotics, liquor, and illicit distillation equipment.
According to an official press release issued here, the police campaign was launched on the directives of the Chief Minister of Punjab and the Inspector General of Police Punjab to curb drug trafficking across the district.
Special police teams were formed to carry out intelligence-based operations against drug dealers.
"During the operations, police recovered narcotics including 46.51 kilograms of hashish, 7.196 kilograms of crystal meth, more than 14 kilograms of cannabis, 6,654 litres of liquor and 10 operational illicit distilleries," it said.
All arrested suspects were taken into custody, and separate criminal cases were registered against them under the relevant laws.
