Police Foil Arms and Drug Smuggling Bid, Five Suspects Arrested
UrduPoint (August 24, 2026) - The district police in Kohat successfully thwarted a major attempt to smuggle arms and narcotics, leading to the arrest of five suspects. During a routine check, they intercepted a vehicle containing 65 9mm pistols, 50 magazines, and 4,870 grams of charas (hashish).
The arrested individuals are Faqir Shah, Mohib, Sameen, all from Darra Adam Khel, and one other whose identity is pending. A case has been registered at the Jarma Police Station for further investigation.
In separate operations:
- Cantonment police arrested Ilyas from Orakzai with 5,000 grams of opium.
- They also apprehended Shahid, a wanted criminal in several robbery and dacoity cases.
These raids were part of an ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking and criminal activities, as stated by the police, aiming to protect citizens' lives and property.
