Federal Minister for Human Rights Meets National Lobbying Delegation for Minority Rights
Federal Minister for Human Rights Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar met with a National Lobbying Delegation for Minority Rights and discussed various legal and policy matters concerning the protection and promotion of minority rights.

Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar announced that the National Commission for Minorities Rights had been established through legislation and progress was ongoing. He added that the commission would play a crucial role in protecting minority rights. The government, he said, would work in consultation with minority community representatives on Christian Personal Law matters.
The Federal Minister stressed the importance of consultation with relevant communities for promoting and protecting minority rights, as well as developing effective legislation and policy measures. He also noted special attention to legal matters concerning the protection of minority women’s rights.
The minister stated that the delegation’s recommendations would be examined legally and politically, and agreed to continue the consultative process to address minority community issues.
