Polio Booster Dose Campaign Begins in Nawabshah

HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News) - The Polio Booster Dose Campaign has formally commenced in nine Union Councils of Talukas Sakrand and Qazi Ahmed in Shaheed Benazirabad District.
An inauguration ceremony was held at the Mother and Child Healthcare Centre, Nawab Shah, where Additional Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Saddam Hussain Memon inaugurated the campaign by administering Polio Booster Doses to children through a jet injector. He also distributed gifts among the children.
On the occasion, the Additional Deputy Commissioner reviewed the vaccination process being carried out by polio teams and urged parents to ensure their children receive Polio Booster Doses during the scheduled campaign days to protect them from polio.
He emphasized that complete eradication of polio is a shared responsibility and called upon parents to cooperate with polio teams.
Dr. Javed Qureshi stated that during the campaign, children in nine Union Councils of Sakrand and Qazi Ahmed would receive the polio vaccine through jet injectors according to their assigned target. Children under five years old will be administered OPV, while those aged four months to 10 years will receive the fIPV Polio Booster Dose.
He further highlighted that trained polio teams have been constituted and team support centers established by the Health Department for a successful campaign. Additional District Health Officer Dr. Mansoor Soomro, Polio Officer Ali Akbar Junejo, and other concerned officers also attended the event.
