Private Schools Inspected To Enforce Minimum Wage Laws

The district administration has launched inspections of private educational institutions to ensure compliance with the government’s minimum wage laws.
Inspections and Monitoring
The inspections were conducted under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner Dera Dr Muhammad Hamid Siddiq by the Assistant Director of the Labour Department and field staff of Dera tehsil. During the inspections, officials examined:
- Attendance registers
- Employee records
- Salary details of teaching and other staff
To verify whether employees were being paid at least the government-notified minimum wage.
School principals and administrations were directed to ensure payment of the prescribed minimum wage to all eligible employees, including teaching staff, and to strictly comply with labour laws and regulations.
Priorities of the District Administration
Dr Siddiq stated that protecting the legal rights of workers and employees was among the district administration’s priorities. He further added that inspections and monitoring would continue to ensure implementation of the government’s minimum wage orders.
