Procurement Committee Constituted for Rs.36bn Daducha Dam Water Supply Scheme

(RAWALPINDI, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 11th Sep, 2026)) The Housing, Urban Development, and Public Health Engineering Department (HUD & PHED) Punjab has constituted a specialized procurement committee to oversee the tendering process for the Rs. 36.0 billion Daducha Dam Surface Water Treatment Plant and Water Supply System project.

According to a notification issued on the instructions of the Secretary HUD & PHED, the three-member committee is led by the Project Director, PMU Daducha Dam Water Supply Project as convener, with the Superintending Engineer, PHED Rawalpindi and Deputy Director P&D, Punjab WASA serving as members.

Terms of Reference (TORs) mandate the committee to:

  • Review and approve eligibility criteria and bidding documents in accordance with PPRA Rules 2014.
  • Evaluate all incoming tenders and technical proposals against prescribed parameters.
  • Finalize the selection of the successful contractor while ensuring complete technical and financial diligence, transparency, and administrative accountability.

The committee has been directed to immediately initiate all necessary prerequisites for the formal bidding phase. Upon operational execution, this mega infrastructure project will supply 35 million gallons of treated surface water daily to Rawalpindi.
