Few commercial relationships in Pakistan's energy sector have endured for half a century. This one has proven its strength through fluctuating markets, global crises, and changing energy landscapes, emerging even more robust after each challenge. Senior leadership from both companies gathered to celebrate this remarkable milestone and chart a course for the future.
PSO expresses its sincere gratitude to the Government of Pakistan, its leadership, the Petroleum Division of the Ministry of Energy, and the National Commodity Management Committee (NCMC). Their policy guidance and supportive framework have been instrumental in facilitating this type of energy cooperation, ensuring the resilience of the supply chain and strengthening the enduring bond between Pakistan and the State of Kuwait.
Fifty years marks a significant milestone, but it's not the finish line. Both companies are exploring opportunities to expand their partnership, including:
- Expanded product cooperation in Motor Gasoline, LPG, and other petroleum products.
- Joint ventures in refining, petroleum storage infrastructure, and terminal facilities.
- Shipping and logistics alliances to further strengthen the supply chain.
These efforts are underpinned by a deeper energy cooperation aligned with the strategic goals of both nations for sustainability in the years to come.
"Our heartfelt thanks go to Sheikh Khaled Ahmad Al Sabah, Managing Director International Marketing, KPC, and the entire KPC leadership for their vision, warmth, and steadfast commitment to our partnership," stated a PSO spokesperson. "We also acknowledge the leadership of Mr. Jawwad Ahmed Cheema, Chief Executive Officer, PSO, whose vision and dedication continue to strengthen PSO’s role in building lasting partnerships and advancing Pakistan’s energy future. The bond between Kuwait and Pakistan transcends business; it is built on solidarity, mutual respect, and friendship between two nations. Through this enduring partnership, PSO and KPC remain committed to translating these ties into lasting value for the people of Pakistan."
PSO looks forward to welcoming Sheikh Khaled Ahmad Al Sabah and the KPC delegation to Pakistan for a joint celebration of this historic 50-year milestone.
