PSX Sheds Over 508 Points

The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the pakistan stock exchange (PSX) continued its bearish trend on Tuesday, losing 508.69 points, a negative change of 0.29 percent, to close at 176,466.99 points. Against 176,975.68 points recorded in the previous trading session.
The ready market witnessed a trading volume of 784.466 million shares, compared to 937.270 million shares traded in the previous session, while the traded value decreased to Rs37.410 billion from Rs39.134 billion. Market capitalization declined to Rs19.782 trillion from Rs19.830 trillion recorded a day earlier.
Out of 498 companies that traded in the ready market:
- 174 posted gains
- 292 suffered losses
- 32 remained unchanged, reflecting a downward trend in the market.
Cnergyico PK led the volume chart with 191.729 million shares, followed by Pak Refinery with 58.149 million shares and WorldCall Telecom with 40.783 million shares.
Among the top gainers:
- PIA Holding Company Limited-B surged by Rs102.00 to close at Rs17,300.00
- Buxly Paints Limited advanced by Rs84.25 to settle at Rs926.77.
On the losing side:
- The Thal Industries Corporation Limited declined by Rs133.94 to close at Rs1,205.46
- Hoechst Pakistan Limited fell by Rs37.17 to Rs4,042.76.
In the futures (DFC) market:
- Turnover stood at 254.050 million shares with a traded value of Rs13.967 billion, compared with 238.374 million shares worth Rs11.702 billion in the previous session.
Of the 303 companies traded in the DFC market:
- 98 advanced
- 203 declined
- two remained unchanged
