PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar has dismissed reports suggesting that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) plans to dissolve the provincial assembly and replace Sohail Afridi. He described these reports as "fabricated" during an interview with a private television channel.
According to Gohar, Sohail Afridi cannot be disqualified under any circumstances, and there have been no consultations regarding his replacement.
He also reaffirmed PTI's decision to proceed with the planned long march on October 4th.
This comes amid calls from within the party, including a letter written by PTI Information Secretary Shaukat Yousafzai, urging a postponement of the march due to "external threats" and "rising terrorism".
Yousafzai suggested that the federal government might attempt to impose an emergency using these issues as a pretext. He advocated for negotiations over confrontation with the state, citing previous instances where Imran Khan called off marches to protect workers' safety.
