PTI Leader Dewan’s Judicial Remand Extended - UrduPoint

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ghulam Mohiuddin Dewan had his judicial remand extended by an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore for 14 days. This is in connection to a case registered over allegedly provocative speeches, arson, and rioting at Sherpao Bridge on May 9.
The proceedings were conducted by Judge Sardar Muhammad Akram Khan. Upon the expiry of his previous remand, Dewan was produced before the court from jail. After hearing the case, the judge extended his remand and sent him back to jail. The court also ordered the police to submit a supplementary challan (investigation report) against the accused.
According to the police, Ghulam Mohiuddin Dewan was present at the scene of the incident and allegedly participated in speeches and rioting along with other PTI leaders and workers. He has been arrested under FIR No. 97/23 registered at Sarwar Road Police Station. The case relates to allegations of making speeches and involvement in arson and rioting during the May 9 unrest.
