PTI Stands With Terrorists in War Against Terrorism: Khawaja Asif

Khawaja Asif has stated that the most heinous crime of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government is its detachment from the war against terrorism, accusing them of providing financial aid through extortion. He further claimed that PTI sides with terrorists in this struggle.
In a post on X, Khawaja Asif argued that viewing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa solely through the lens of PTI’s political activities, protests, or long marches overlooks the paramount issue.
He questioned: how long will a provincial government attempt to advance on the federal capital, and how long will the party ruling the province maintain a constant confrontation with the country’s federal institutions? What will be the outcome?
Asif also questioned whether the provincial government had fulfilled its constitutional and administrative responsibilities in light of the growing terrorism threat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He stated that since PTI took power in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, their sole focus has been filling their own pockets, looting the public treasury, and distributing a share of this ill-gotten wealth to the leadership.
He highlighted several administrative concerns, including:
- The provincial government’s absence from martyrs' funerals and failure to support their families.
- Fostering an environment conducive to terrorism.
- Neglecting the capacity building of the police and Counter Terrorism Department.
- Deliberate inaction on effective governance in the merged districts.
Khawaja Asif emphasized that law and order, counterterrorism, functional governance, federal stability, and meeting relevant constitutional and legal requirements were the national agenda. He challenged PTI to choose between personal interests and group politics or fulfilling the national duties.
