PU Sets New Admissions Record As 12,247 Students Enroll in First Phase
Lahore, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - September 4, 2026) The trend of admissions to the Punjab University has increased, breaking the previous record. In the first phase this year, 12,247 students have been admitted, whereas last year a total of 11,000 students were admitted across both phases.
The PU completed 12,247 admissions in the very first phase of this year’s admission process. Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Muhammad Ali said that the increase in admissions reflects the candidates' confidence in the quality of education at PU. He stated that the university provides the best education at the lowest fees and offers the highest number of scholarships and subsidies to its male and female students.
The second phase of admissions at PU will begin on September 8, during which admissions will reopen for the seats remaining vacant in various programs.
