Public Satisfaction Key to Measuring KP Govt Performance: CM

PESHAWAR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 9th Sep, 2026) Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi stated on Wednesday that his government’s performance would be gauged by public satisfaction and the efficient resolution of citizens’ issues, rather than merely through meetings and presentations.

During a review meeting on the performance of the Chief Minister’s Complaint Cell, he noted that the provincial administration was taking concrete steps to foster public participation in governance and ensure timely redressal of grievances.

The meeting revealed that the Complaint Cell received 3,551 complaints via various channels between January and August 2026. Of these:

  • 499 complaints were resolved at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat or suitable guidance was provided to complainants.
  • 2,610 cases were referred to relevant provincial departments for action.
  • In 988 referred cases, relief was offered; in 11, partial relief was provided.
  • Action on 781 complaints was still underway.
  • 774 complaints did not meet the criteria for action, while 498 were deemed impracticable due to jurisdictional or legal constraints.

Land disputes and education emerged as prominent categories of public complaints, leading the meeting to emphasize stronger collaboration among relevant departments and complaint cells.

Sohail Afridi directed authorities to actively promote the relief granted through the complaint mechanism, enabling more citizens to benefit from it. He underscored that effective complaint resolution and enhanced public participation in governance are central to Imran Khan’s vision, adding that his administration is dedicated to turning this vision into tangible actions.

He emphasized that the provincial government and bureaucracy remain ultimately accountable to the people, and their future hinges on public trust and satisfaction.

He also took severe action against those responsible for the incident at Peshawar Nursing College, directing that they be held accountable under the law.

"The students of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are our children, and the provincial government will take every step necessary to protect their rights and serve them," he affirmed.

Chief Secretary, in his presentation, announced a comprehensive awareness campaign about available complaint-resolution mechanisms. He proposed integrating the Chief Secretary’s Complaint Cell and other complaint cells with the Chief Minister’s Complaint Cell to enhance coordination and facilitate complainants.

The meeting also learned that the government planned to leverage artificial intelligence to analyze complaint trends, identify categories, and pinpoint areas needing reforms in the governance system.

Of all complaints received:

  • 1,090 were submitted manually.
  • 1,047 through WhatsApp.
  • 687 via email.
  • 343 by phone call.
  • 273 through social media platforms.
