Punjab CM’s Statement On KP Distorted: Captain (R) Safdar
Mardan, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Sep, 2026) PML-N leader Captain (R) Safdar said that the Punjab chief minister’s statement regarding Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had been distorted. He added that Maryam Nawaz, being the daughter-in-law of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa people, held a special place in their hearts.
While speaking to journalists in Mardan, Captain (R) Safdar stated that the government should have been informed about the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister’s visit to Lahore. He emphasized that respecting someone's home implies knocking on the door before entering.
The PML-N leader firmly asserted that creating new provinces is not the priority at this moment; instead, focusing on stabilizing the country's economy is crucial. He clarified that provinces can only be created with the consent of political leadership, Parliament, and the people.
Reminding the audience of his earlier statement in Abbottabad, Captain (R) Safdar declared that Uzma Bukhari couldn't refer to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as "wild"; her educated mind prevented such a judgment. He proudly claimed to be a son of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and vowed to fight for the province's rights across Pakistan.
Captain (R) Safdar further emphasized that calling someone 'wild' wouldn't make them relatives. In his view, Punjab has a lesser claim over Maryam Nawaz Sharif compared to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since she is married into their family.
