Punjab Govt Consults Ahle Sunnah Scholars on Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) Arrangements, Law and Order

LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 20th Aug, 2026) On the instructions of the Chief Minister Punjab, a series of meetings with scholars belonging to different schools of thought are ongoing in the Home Department.

On this occasion, a delegation of Ahle Sunnah Tahaffuz Namoos Risalat met with Provincial Minister and Chairman Cabinet Committee on Law and Order, Khawaja Salman Rafique. The delegation was led by Dr. Muhammad Raghib Naeemi, Chairman Islami Nazriati Council.

Dr. Ahmed Javed Qazi, Secretary Home, Faisal Farid, Special Secretary Interior, Sajjad Manj, DIG Special Branch, Javeria Maqbool, Additional Secretary Internal Security, Abdul Rauf, Additional Secretary Special Initiative, SSP Operations Punjab, SSP CTD, and others attended the meeting.

The delegation included:

During the meeting, arrangements for the celebration of the Prophet’s (PBUH) arrival and the overall situation of law and order across the province were discussed.

Provincial Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique said that the Punjab government has completed the arrangements for the celebration of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH). Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has issued instructions to all provincial administrations in this regard. Special events are being organized in all departments including educational institutions of Punjab on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH). Consultations with esteemed scholars of all schools of thought are ongoing under the leadership of the Punjab Chief Minister. Scholars have a key role to play in establishing peace in Punjab. "We have to rise above all differences and unite for the security of Pakistan," he added.

Dr. Ahmed Javed Qazi, Punjab Home Secretary, stated that esteemed scholars are playing an important role in establishing peace. Strong coordination exists regarding arrangements for Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH). Instructions have been issued to all commissioners and deputy commissioners in this regard.

Dr. Muhammad Raghib Naeemi expressed that scholars of all schools of thought are the hands of the state for maintaining peace and security.
