Punjab IGP Pays Tribute to Pakistan Army, Martyrs on Defence Day
UrduPoint (6th Sep, 2026) - Lahore: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Abdul Karim, in his message on Defence Day, paid tribute to the Pakistan Army for its sacrifices and services rendered for the defence and security of the country.
He stated that the Pakistan Army had demonstrated an unparalleled spirit of selflessness and sacrifice for the survival, sovereignty, and security of the nation. The IGP further expressed Punjab Police's solidarity with the Pakistan Army in defending the country’s internal, external, and ideological frontiers. He added that officers and personnel of the police force have also made significant sacrifices while playing a crucial role in the war against terrorism.
Abdul Karim emphasised the need to protect social values and uphold strong moral principles to counter fifth-generation warfare. He noted that hostile forces are targeting the country’s ideological frontiers, which can be addressed through national unity and awareness.
The IGP highlighted Punjab Police's sacrifices in defending the nation's internal borders and its citizens, adding that these efforts constitute a proud chapter in the history of homeland defence. He vowed that Punjab Police would continue to fulfill its duties with dedication for the country's protection and security.
Concluding his message, he expressed hope that Pakistan, being a fortress of islam, would forever remain so.
