Qatar’s Export Unit Value Index Increases by 17.64% in Q2 2026 Despite Regional Challenges

Qatar’s Export Unit Value Index (EXUVI) for the second quarter of 2026 showed a notable rise of 17.64% compared to the same period in 2025 (Q2 2025), marking a 6.45% increase from the first quarter of 2026 (Q1 2026). This growth, as stated by the National Planning Council (NPC), highlights the resilience of the Qatari economy in the face of international developments and regional challenges.

Despite the volatile global markets and supply chain disruptions, each main group within the EXUVI contributed to the overall increase. The Mineral Fuels, Lubricants and Related Materials group led the way with a 34.73% gain, followed by Chemicals and Related Products at 8.04%. Manufactured Goods Classified Chiefly by Material also saw a 3.31% rise.

Index Composition and Key Findings:

  • Mineral Fuels, Lubricants and Related Materials: 88.77% relative weight, a 4.25% increase.
  • Chemicals and Related Products: 8.04% weight, 34.73% growth.
  • Manufactured Goods Classified Chiefly by Material: 2.63% weight, 3.31% rise.

The only group to record a decrease was Commodities and Transactions Not Classified Elsewhere in SITC, dropping by 1.00%.

This positive development in Qatar’s export unit value index underscores the country’s economic resilience and diversification efforts.
