Railways Minister Visits Papri Marshalling Yard, Reviews Operational Activities
Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi paid a detailed visit to Papri Marshalling Yard of Pakistan Railways in Karachi on Friday. He inspected the yard and reviewed operational activities, where he was briefed about available facilities and ongoing development works.
The Federal Minister also visited the container terminal at Papri Marshalling Yard and directed to complete its construction by September 30. He emphasized immediate measures for improvement in the freight sector.
Abbasi stated that: "The process of making Pakistan Railways self-reliant and establishing it on modern lines is ongoing." He added, "Operational capacity should be enhanced so that the conservation of time and resources becomes possible."
He decided to outsource welding work at Papri Yard and met with the gang-men, directing timely payment of salaries.
The visit was accompanied by Chairman Pakistan Railways, CEO, and other concerned officers.
