Railways Minister Vows No Compromise on Passenger Facilities
LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Oct, 2026) | Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi on Sunday stated that providing quality and comfortable travel facilities to passengers is the top priority of Pakistan Railways.
He made these remarks during a surprise visit to Lahore Railway Station, where he inspected the ongoing extension work at platforms No. 2 and 4 in detail.
The minister expressed dissatisfaction with the installation of substandard benches at Platform No. 4, directing authorities to remove them immediately and replace them with new, high-quality benches. He also ordered the shifting of the Divisional Superintendent (DS) Office to Lahore Railway Station for direct monitoring of passenger facilities, ongoing projects, and overall performance.
Abbasi inspected family and executive lounges, reviewing air conditioning and other amenities. Passengers praised the minister for ensuring quality in the air-conditioned halls.
He categorically stated that there would be no compromise on passenger facility standards at railway stations.
