Rain Continues For Fourth Consecutive Day; Dewatering Operations Underway
SIALKOT, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – August 21, 2026) Heavy rain continued to lash across the city and its surrounding areas for the fourth consecutive day, with the Meteorological (MET) office recording up to 179 millimeters of rainfall so far. While the continuous downpour and strong winds have turned the weather pleasant, the inundation of low-lying areas has caused severe difficulties for the residents.
Due to the heavy rainfall, several feeders of the Gujranwala Electric Power Company (GEPCO) tripped, resulting in power outages across various parts of the city. Subsequently, the local administration has launched a comprehensive dewatering operation to drain the accumulated rainwater from the affected areas and restore normalcy.
