Rain or Rush, Traffic Must Keep Moving: DIG Haroon Orders Stronger Road Discipline

ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 1st Sep, 2026) Director General Safe City/DIG Traffic Muhammad Haroon Joya on Tuesday directed traffic officers to ensure smooth traffic flow during rainfall while strengthening action against lane violations, helmetless motorcyclists, non-standard number plates, and tinted glasses across the Federal capital.

An official informed APP that he issued these directives while chairing a meeting of traffic officers attended by Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Kainat Azhar Khan and others. The meeting reviewed traffic management during rainy weather and measures to prevent disruptions on city roads.

Haroon Joya instructed officers to remain vigilant during rainfall and take necessary actions for seamless traffic flow, facilitating road users. He also ordered stringent enforcement against motorists breaking lane discipline, using non-standard number plates or tinted glasses, as well as motorcyclists riding without helmets.

The DIG Traffic further directed officers to address parking issues at public and tourist spots, where incorrect parking could pose challenges to visitors and other road users. He requested traffic officers to ensure better travel facilities for citizens and take measures to maintain an organized traffic system, ensuring convenience for commuters.
