Rana Mashhood, Hamza Shehbaz Meet, Call For Wider Youth Opportunities
ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 28th Aug, 2026) Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, met with Hamza Shehbaz Sharif, former Punjab chief minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President, on Friday. They discussed government initiatives for youth employment, skills development, entrepreneurship, and access to emerging opportunities. Both leaders emphasized the need for equal opportunities for young people across all provinces and regions.
The meeting focused on:
- Strengthening youth-focused policies and programs aligned with local economic needs, skills, and employment trends.
- Enhancing outreach through modern communication channels and multiple languages.
Rana Mashhood highlighted the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme’s commitment to:
- Creating employment, developing skills, promoting entrepreneurship, and connecting young people with modern opportunities.
- The 4Es framework: Education, Employment, Engagement, and Empowerment.
- Equipping youth with modern skills relevant to current and future job markets.
He noted that several young people benefited from the laptop scheme and now earn in pounds and dollars through freelancing.
Mashhood also mentioned:
- The development of the National Youth Employment Policy, National E-Sports Policy, and National Adolescent and Youth Policy.
- The establishment of the Digital Youth Hub, with over 850,000 registered users.
- Efforts to provide equal opportunities for youth from all provinces and regions, tailoring programs to their local needs, skills, and employment trends.
Hamza Shehbaz appreciated Rana Mashhood’s initiatives and emphasized the need for:
- Equal opportunities for young people from Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and other regions, based on their needs, capabilities, and local economic opportunities.
- Effective communication of the government’s message to young people through modern trends and in different languages to improve outreach.
