Rawal Dam Spillways Open As Water Level Rises
ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 26th Aug, 2026) The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) on Wednesday warned residents living along Korang Nullah to remain vigilant as the Rawal Dam’s water level reached 1,751.40 feet, prompting the opening of its spillways from 6 am to noon today. With increased water flow expected downstream, the NDMA advised caution and safety precautions for nearby residents.
The NDMA Media Wing stated that the opening of the spillways could lead to a rise in water flow in Korang Nullah, urging people not to enter or cross the nullah or temporary bridges if water becomes swift. Residents in areas along Korang Nullah are advised to remain alert and follow safety precautions amid the anticipated increase in water discharge.
